What’s a common new MLM rep question?  I think it’s, “How do I start sponsoring in my MLM business?”  If you’re still in the investigation stage of your network marketing experience you have to read this article.Utilize tried-and-true ways of sponsoring new reps. You should probably start by prospecting within your warm market.Your friends and family could be the easiest to talk to first.  Don’t be pushy, just show it to them. You and your prospect should both benefit from great MLM sponsoring.

Not a hard seller?  Neither am I!The rumors of hard selling in order to succeed with MLM sponsoring kept me away from network marketing for years.  If you’re anything like I was, you need tools and assistance in making your job easier when trying to sponsor new downline.  Follow these tips to explode your MLM sponsoring efforts.

Product & Services: Choose a kick-ass product to sell.  A lot of times we get caught up in selling the business opportunity and not the actual product. All your MLM income really comes from the sale of your product or service!  Don’t forget that.  It’s also your product that will get you in the door most times.Choose a product you really love.  If you don’t like taking vitamins, don’t sell vitamins!MLM sponsoring comes easy with a great product.

Sort, don’t Sell: The hard sell turns a lot of people off.Can you even count the number of hard-selling telemarketing calls you’ve gotten in the past? You can feel the hard push from the other end of the phone.  Don’t be that person!  True MLM sponsoring is not desperate.  Focus on getting your product or service in front of as many people as possible…then sort out the winners.Kick-ass products can really boost your chances of huge MLM sponsoring.

Be Magnetic:  Many of you have probably read my friend Mike Dillard’s fantastic book “Magnetic Sponsoring.”  In it Mike outlines the characteristics of a leader who literally attracts prospects.Increase your leads by becoming a killer magnetic leader.Become an expert.  Constantly improve yourself through self-help books, public speaking and writing.Act like a leader now, and strive to become a great one.  MLM sponsoring centers around great leaders.Think back to when you started and figure out whether you’d follow a leader like yourself.Figure out what your flaws are and work hard to change.Lastly, keep learning and pass on that knowledge to your downline. Now it’s time to implement your new plan and get your MLM sponsoring off the ground.

{Are you stressed out with MLM sponsoring~Does MLM sponsoring make you crazy~Can’t figure out the secret to MLM sponsoring}? Need help improving your skills?  Have trouble with the “hard sell?”

You are not alone.  Most people have a hard time sponsoring.  The main reason being they think they have to SELL when in fact they should be SORTING.  MLM sponsoring becomes easy once you A) have confidence, and B) learn the correct approach. Thirty party referrals are a great way to get leads…and explode your MLM sponsoring efforts.

People naturally want to help.  Ask someone in a gas station for driving directions and most times they’ll tell you. MLM sponsoring can be aided with a similar approach.

By now you’ve probably made a list of all the people you want to contact about your new business opportunity (if you haven’t, do it now). WAIT Go back to your list and separate it into two columns: A & B.  In your A column list those prospects you think have a vast network of contacts. Use the B column to list those contacts that don’t have a strong network.

Once you’re ready to make contact let’s start with your column A prospects.

Here’s a sample of how the conversation should go, “Hey Tom! I was wondering if you could give me a hand with something.  I just started a new business and I’m looking to expand.  Do you know of anyone who’s looking to increase their income?”

Tom is now thinking two things:

1) Who can I refer?

2) If this is so important why can’t I do it?

You’ve just planted an MLM sponsoring seed. He’s now in your pipeline because of your more passive approach.  He’s now curious about what you have going on. Call him back after a day or two and see if he has any referrals for you.  After that, follow up again and present your opportunity to him. If every prospect brings you more prospects…you’re in the money! Doesn’t this make MLM sponsoring simple?

Looking For The Best? Choose A Binary Compensation Plan

Binary Compensation

There are a variety of compensation plans in the network marketing world.  Make sure you fully investigate before jumping in.  I’ve had experience in a couple but my new favorite, by far, is the Binary Compensation Plan.  Here’s why:

Easy to Understand: I’m a pretty simple guy and I like a plan that is easily understood.Binary compensation is simple to illustrate to prospective downline. You can either put new reps on your left or your right. How could it be easier? Keep it super simple by telling new downline to place OUTSIDE left or OUTSIDE right only.It can depend on the prevailing strategy in your network marketing company.  For me, the simplicity of the plan outweighs any detractors.

Two Teams: In a binary compensation plan you only have two legs.  That means you can devote time as you see fit and drive growth in the shorter leg if needed (always consult your upline leadership regarding the property placement of new members). You can get a megastar on one of your teams that explodes his downline into 12,000…you can just focus on your other team!

Help From Above: You can take advantage of the growth of your upline’s organization. If you’re placed in the right spot, you could benefit from your upline’s growth.  Again, it all depends on where your upline is placing new members, but you could realistically get a huge power boost by not even lifting a finger.

Grow The Bottom: The focus of many binary compensation plans is to work the bottom of each leg. What does that cause?  It motivates the brand new guys and gals and it lights a fire under the old timers. How are new downline motivated? As a team you should focus on getting new downline started right and started fast .  Help them grow their business.

Synergy: Pretend you just sponsored Brian.Brian could be a rockstar-in-the-making, but hasn’t grasped his potential yet.His organization is growing as yours is.  Why?  Because depending on which leg he’s on, at some point you will have to put new members under him.  What does that do?It starts the explosion of his business.  At some point he should take a look at his business and realize, “Holy crap! I have 328 people on my team! I love this binary compensation plan!” He should get what he’s missing out on is he doesn’t work on his short leg.Leave Brian a short voicemail saying, “Congrats on your exploding business.” See what happens.

Synergy can be contagious.Binary compensation allows the entire organization to work as a team.  Awesome!

Do your due diligence and fully investigate your network marketing company’s compensation plan.  Dig into what it takes to grow your team.Checkout how you’ll be getting paid.Binary compensation may or may not be for you.So check it out…and good luck!

Real MLM Leaders Outsource

If you’re new to networking marketing you might be wondering how superstar MLM leaders cater to their massive downlines.I was similarly curious.  The simple answer is that they have their own killer MLM leaders downline from them that they’ve trained and are now running most of the show.

Early on it’s a bit different though.  You may be new to your network marketing company and might only have one or two people that you’ve sponsored.  That’s great. Congratulations! It’s time to get out there and work. Many potential MLM Leaders take a little too much initiative and the result is an overwhelmed downline.  Here’s a great idea on how to foster a better working relationship with your downline:

Pass ‘em on:  Look, I know you’re Mr. Rockstar network marketer, but your personality, no matter how powerful, may not mesh with everyone.  Just like making friends, finding a mentor that you can connect with is a HUGE benefit in the network marketing world.  If one of your downline prefers to work with your own sponsor or someone from another team, don’t worry about it.  They need to find their own mini team that they can best relate to.

Let me give you an example:

You sponsor Brandon and Brandon is an accountant with quick wit.He may be not be super outgoing but may thrive on kneecap-to-kneecap conversations.

Conversely, you are the shining light in any gathering.  There’s no one you’ve ever met that isn’t instantly your best friend.  You are “THE MAN”.

Well, although Brandon may love you like a brother (you did sponsor him), his approach to network marketing may be different. On one hand, he may be more reserved, you, on the other hand, may be super outgoing and energetic.

That’s ok!

Have an honest conversation with Brandon and help link him up with a strong MLM Leader you think would be a better fit.  Help him find the best recipe for success. He’ll really like the fact that you’re taking time to grow HIS business.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you should pawn off your downline on others.  I just think that great MLM Leaders need to find their own mentors and you may not be that key person they need to help them put everything in perspective.

Good luck!

We’re going to go a few steps ahead with this article.  Instead of talking about where to find MLM leaders for your downline, today we’re going to talk about developing leaders you already have in your downline.  Start with the following steps:

Identify: Pick and choose which downline members have potential and drive. Some may not know it yet so watch them carefully for signs of ability. Is their charisma a good match for what you want to accomplish in network marketing? Are their skills different than yours?

Contact:  Let your new leader know that you’ve recognized their abilities and think that they’d be a great influence within your organization.Give them praise and let them understand that you believe in their potential. The majority of MLM Leaders trained to get their current skills.

Give:  Remember that you must always give before you receive.I’m not saying you should let your downline abuse your time.  Just let them know that you are there for them and want to help them succeed.  If they succeed, you succeed.

Training Plan: Let them see your systems.Still don’t have yours up and running?Utilize the expertise of your upline.  Be generous with the information you provide your downline but try not to overwhelm them with too much.  Come up with a structured training plan for the next 30, 60, and 90-days.

Be Nice:  Network marketing is not a community of slaves and dimwits. They are your peers and deserve your respect.  Yes, sometimes you’ll have issue with a hardheaded associate, but give them some time and space.Help them understand that once they’re ready…so are you.Be kind.

Again, these are merely some of the beginning steps of identifying and growing the MLM leaders within your organization.  Join me next time for more insight into growing powerhouse MLM leaders.
